Street Self-Defense Workshop
Date: Thursday, May 10, 6:30-8:30 pm
A co-ed workshop on how to defend against a violent personal attack. Learn what to do to ensure you have the mental preparedness, self-confidence, and physical capabilities to defeat your attacker.
Former Police Officer and Owner of Code 5 Fitness Tricia Dong teams with 30 years experienced and certified martial arts instructor Brent Matsuda (Warrior Zen Martial Arts) to provide a co-ed workshop on how to defend against a violent personal attack. They will show you what to do to ensure you have the mental preparedness, self-confidence, and physical capabilities to defeat your attacker. Emphasis will be on natural body movement, not memorization of complicated moves, and to share what you’ve learned with others.
For men, this is a great opportunity to learn practical self-defense in a non-competitive, non-intimidating environment and to learn how to protect someone you love.
For women, if you have ever said to yourself, “It won’t happen to me”, after seeing reports of another personal attack on the news, you are WRONG. It DOES happen to nice people like you, it CAN happen to you, but there IS something you can do about it! If you are prepared, you can avoid becoming another crime statistic on the six o’clock news.
** No experience necessary! **
Dress Code: Please wear comfortable workout sweat clothes (e.g., yoga attire). We will be working on a padded training floor so there will be no shoes allowed on the matted floor and no clothes with zippers or other accessories that may tear or scratch the mats.
Date: Thursday, May 10, 2018, 6:30-8:30 pm
